Syllabus – NEC 2014 A – NFPA70 – Code changes from 20011 to 2014

This class will inform the electrician or industrial maintenance technician to perform tasks of various kinds in keeping with the requirements the 2014 version of the code. Where applicable, changes from the 2008 version are also reviewed as some AHJs are not on a three year adoption cycle.

Day 1 / 8 Hours (7 contact hours – CEUs)Section 1 – Code Wide Changes How the Code changes cycle to cycle Predominant changes over last two cycles The AHJ and the Code Covered and Not Covered Purpose Section 2 – Article 100 Covering significant changes and additions to the terms used throughout the Code Section 3 – Article 200 The majority of the changes made to the Code for the two cycles ending in 2014 were found in this Chapter (2). The main emphasis has been in Article 210 and Article 250 We explore why these articles were so important

Section 4 – Article 300 Turning the Tables How the tables changed and why Section 5 – Article 400 “Application to Other Articles” The impact of Grounding and Bonding on Chapter 4 Section 6 – Article 500 New requirements for Special Occupancies Health Care Facilities Section 7 – Article 600 Swimming pools and spas Photovoltaic Systems
